Training Guide

We conduct 1/2 day or full day lessons, usually on weekends. Shorter lessons or midweek lessons can be arranged to suit your requirements.

Lessons may be conducted one on one or in small groups of up to four students per instructor

Discounts are available for multiple lessons or groups.

Following is a basic guide to our standard Lesson plan.

The Initial Lesson for each new rider will include a discussion of goals, and development of customised lesson plan, and an assessement of your riding ability.

Beginner Lesson Topics

Vessel checks prior to use, Safety considerations, Launching and retrieving PWC from a trailer at a ramp, Starting procedures, Mounting and dismounting in shallow water, Riding positions, mounting and dismounting in deep water, Clearing intake blockages, Righting procedure for capsized vessel, slow speed manouevering in smooth waters, Approaching Jetties/Other vessels, Vessel checks after use.

Intermediate Lesson topics

Riding in choppy water / green waves, riding in small broken surf, Speed control, Manouvering at speed

Advanced Lesson topics

Launching and Retrieving vessel at the beach, Manouvering in larger surf, Handling very large surf, Towing a skier/boarder, Tow in surfing.

Remember that our goal is to help you get the best from your craft , without having to learn the "hard" way. Lessons can be adjusted to suit what you want to learn, and the speed at which you learn the appropriate skills, following is a basic guide to our standard Lesson topics.
